Conway Eco + Arts Fest 2018: The World and Water About Us in Laurel Park, 11:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
This year, EcoFest and ArtsFest have joined forces in what will be the most interactive and engaging festival of the fall.
The goal of the combined festival is to help connect the community to the environment in which we live, with emphasis on how all decisions lead back to water. Attendees, young and old, will enjoy moving throughout the park to learn more about how shifts in daily behaviors can further support sustainability, protect our earth's capacity to give, and help to enrich our world. We will showcase the Stormy the Fish Stormwater program, Museum of Discovery and Mid America Science museums, City of Conway and Arkansas state organizations, UCA, Hendrix College, Philander Smith College, MetroPlan, and more. Discover creators, makers, conservators, and innovators. Sign up and learn more about local recycling and waste management programs or just take a cruise through the cardboard maze. Hear of renewable energy and alternative transportation ideas that are in support of smarter infrastructure.
Bring along the family to create their own works of art in the Kid's Zone. Watch sculptor Bryan Massey create a new work of art from solid iron as he pours molten metal throughout the day. The "Front Porch" will showcase storytellers as they spin yarns about their relationship to water while enjoying the Wishing Well, a mural made of yarn by international artists Maya Gelfman and Roie Avidan with the help of the Conway community. View visual and 3D works of art in the Art Tent and Art Mobile. Or kick your feet up and listen to music and entertainment throughout the day at both the Stage and throughout the park. While there, you can support the local economy when you eat and shop local business and farmers market place.
This event is free and open to the public.
Attendees are invited to purchase food and goods from our vendors.
Parking is available at the park, across Prince Street at the Conway Public Schools Administration Building and across Robinson Avenue at Conway Regional Hospital.
