Stephanie Stiles will have her original artwork for sale at Art in the Park in Simon Park on October 3, 1pm-7pm.
"My name is Stephanie Stiles. I am a Christian, the mother of 2, a wife, and an English teacher. Now I am something I never thought I would be. . . an ARTIST!
I have been an avid reader all my life: books are precious to me. I know in today’s technology savvy society actual hardback books are becoming less and less important to many, but not to me. I had way too many books in my small house, but I just could not throw books out. I often donated them, but I still had too many. One day I saw folded book art and was amazed, intrigued and in love. I taught myself how to do it, and now I cannot get enough of it!
I can fold almost any shape, letter, word or symbol into a book. I do custom orders so people can have names, dates, or whatever has a personal meaning put into a book. Some of the most popular folds right now are baby feet, crosses, giraffes, owls, hearts, and names.
The books are not harmed at all! The pages are just folded. If you want to read the book, you can unfold the pages. I doubt you would want to take the time, but you could.
A lot of time and love goes in to each and every book I fold. I enjoy being able to make personal, unique gifts that can capture any personality. I am currently attending various arts and crafts festivals. You can also check out my work at www.etsy.com/store/divafromscratch or email me at firstname.lastname@example.org for more information. I ship internationally.
